Description:
Sociology is the study of social institutions and relationships, and how they are expressed and transmitted in everyday life. As a student in Atkinson’s Sociology program, you will examine a broad range of themes including health, crime, gender, families, culture, and the diasporic experience that will help you to develop a thorough and analytical understanding of people, institutions and society. Students can further concentrate on one of several streams including: Diaspora Cultures; Gender and Families; Social Justice Studies; or Work and the Workplace. Whatever option you choose, Atkinson’s Sociology program will help you develop sophisticated research, critical, analytical and communication skills.
